Hayk Marutyan: on March 23 we are going to join our efforts and clean up our city

Before referring to the items on the agenda during the regular working meeting Yerevan Mayor Hayk Marutyan expressed gratitude to the staff for the activities carried out in relation to dismantling of the cafes surrounding the Opera House. The Mayor also thanked the police and the residents for keeping public order and the assistance shown during the process. The goal of the project is to restore the architectural look and the community-owned green zones.

“It is the heart of our city and we must improve, landscape this area so that the residents and guests of the capital can enjoy the cultural atmosphere”, said the Mayor.
Within the frames of “Clean Armenia” program a Saturday clean-up is scheduled in Yerevan for March 23. Mayor Hayk Marutyan called the residents of the capital to join the action.
“I am going to take part in the action together with my family. I want to ask the residents to join us. It is an excellent opportunity to join our efforts and do a great work in one day. We will clean up our city together. I hope, that after carrying out several similar clean-up actions the city will become much cleaner”, noted Hayk Marutyan.
The citywide clean-up will be accompanied with festive events. Citizens can get additional information on the addresses where the actions will be held via phone numbers of the administrative districts of the capital.
During the meeting the Mayor was also reported that the program of catching, examination, vaccination and sterilization of stray dogs started in the capital on March 13. All the phone calls received via “hot lines” of the Municipality in this regard are immediately transmitted to the centre. During these three days 9 dogs were brought to the centre.
