Construction Sites: Responsible and Irresponsible Developers
In 2023, the Yerevan City Council made amendments to the Council's decision concerning the proper arrangement of construction sites. According to the decision, construction developers are required to enclose construction areas with dust-protection nets, which will not only mitigate the environmental impact of ongoing construction work, but also serve as a vital safety measure. Furthermore, according to this decision, air quality monitoring devices must be installed at all construction sites, and truck tires must be washed to ensure vehicles exit the construction zone and enter the public roads with clean tires.
While many developers consistently follow the established regulations, there are also non-compliant ones. Consequently, the city authorities are currently considering further amendments to the decision before the end of the year, including significantly stricter penalties for developers who violate the established rules.
