The last report on the work done by the administrative districts of Yerevan was presented to Mayor Taron Margaryan in Nork-Marash district. Presenting the report on the activities carried out in various spheres of urban economy the head of Nork-Marash district Vaghinak Mkrtchyan informed that they had been aimed at providing comfortable environment for residents. In 2017 large-scale activities were carried out to install a new irrigation network, expand green areas and improve them, as well as to fulfil programs of social significance. As an achievement Vaghinak Mkrtchyan outlined the comfortable conditions provided in all four kindergartens of the district, overhauling of the sport school of the district, as well as creation and equipment of the chess school. New appropriate conditions were provided in the only cultural center of the district-the music school after R.Andreasyan as a result of which the number of children attending music school increased. Speaking about the plans for 2018 the head of the district assured that the staff is ready to implement all the programs included in the five-year program of Yerevan development with the same enthusiasm.
“Mister Mayor, significant activities were carried out in Nork-Marash district to create recreation zones. Taking into account that there are mainly private estates in our district and there are no yard areas the residents often raise the problem of creating recreation zones. Today we can state that a number of comfortable recreation zones were formed in some areas suitable for it. The newly-built rest zones are provided with bowers, benches, playgrounds, sport equipment and a football ground. Be sure that all the programs scheduled in our district for this year will be implemented consistently”, said Vaghinak Mkrtchyan.
On the whole positively estimating the work done by Nork-Marash district Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan drew the staff’s attention to green areas expansion.
“We have taken consistent measures aimed at the expansion of public green zones in Yerevan, at the environment improvement and sustainable development in the sphere of landscaping. In your report you referred to the restoration of the forest zone of Nork highlands which is certainly vital not only for Nork-Marash residents but also for the whole city. You know that this forest zone is subjected to “Hayantar” SNCO of the RA Ministry of Agriculture so taking it into account I’d offer to activate the cooperation with “Hayantar”, to discuss this issue thoroughly and submit an appropriate proposal and the draft. Be sure that within our powers we are ready to show overall support so as to restore and expand this forest zone. Naturally, this problem can’t be solved within a year but it shouldn’t disappoint anyone. It’s important to start and I am sure if the project is divided into several stages we will finally restore this forest zone”, said Taron Margaryan.
Referring to the creation of infrastructures aimed at tourism boosting and activation of investment field Yerevan Mayor noted that Nork-Marash district has a big potential in tourism development.
“From Nork highlands one can view the whole city so Nork-Marash district outstands with its touristic possibilities. Growth of tourist interest and the fact of being near the city center make it possible to attract beneficial investments. Taking it into account my instruction to the staff of the district is to develop more active cooperation with the private sector. We must take consistent steps to fulfil investment programs, build hotels and develop infrastructures. All interested parties must be sure that the staff of Nork-Marash district will do everything possible within their powers to accomplish investment programs”, said the Mayor.
