The treaty signed between Yerevan Municipality and European Union has been confirmed

At the 1st meeting of the 3rd session of Yerevan Council of Elders which was chaired by Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan, the Council was submitted for discussion the draft decision on confirmation of the grant treaty signed between Yerevan Municipality and the European Union on December 27, 2017.
Yerevan Deputy Mayor Vahe Nikoyan who was presenting the issue noted that the aim of the program is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and to provide energy saving in about 90 blocks of flats by means of application of energy efficiency measures and installation of solar photovoltaic systems on the roofs. The total cost of the program is 1 million 250 thousand euro,1 million euro of which is the grant form European Union and 250 thousand euro is Yerevan Municipality co-financing. It is planned to implement the program in 2018-2019 as a result of which the energy supply of elevators,public and yard areas will be provided, LED lamps will be installed in entries and yard areas, and after energy efficiency measures and using of restorable energy the reduction of emissions will make up 844 tons of CO2. The members of the Council of Elders discussed and confirmed the grant treaty signed between Yerevan Municipality and the European Union on December 27, 2017.
Other issues of the agenda were also approved by the Council of Elders. The next regular meeting of the Council is scheduled for March 19, 2018.
