“Follow the sun, come to Yerevan”: concert of “Yerevan” symphonic youth orchestra has been held

The exclusive concert of “Yerevan” symphonic youth orchestra has been held in the garden of the National Assembly. The RA President Armen Sarkissian, the RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, His Holiness All Armenian Catholicose Garegin II, the President of the National Assembly Ararat Mirzoyan, Yerevan Mayor Hayk Marutyan, deputies of the NA, members of parliament and Yerevan Council of Elders, guests, townspeople were present at the concert organized within the frames of “Yerevan summer 2019” program. In his speech addressed to those present Yerevan Mayor Hayk Marutyan particularly said, “This day is very important both for these youth and for me and I feel a bit excited too. Today these young people are performing in front of top state and spiritual officials and strict public. And after the concert they will be preparing for performing in the cities and towns of Armenia and abroad as well”.
The orchestra consisted of about 250 pupils of 25 art and music schools of the capital performed compositions of Armenian composers. The new composition entitled “Yerevan” composed by Maestro Tigran Mansuryan especially for the orchestra was performed for the first time. The concert was dedicated to the 150th anniversary of Komitas and 80th anniversary of Tigran Mansuryan.
