“We must not let our city look ugly”: Mayor Tigran Avinyan
The cafes and similar structures adjacent to the monuments and the buildings of architectural significance in Yerevan will be dismantled. During the regular working meeting Mayor Tigran Avinyan instructed to study legislative solutions for concrete cases.
The Mayor stressed that the cafes that don’t’ look appropriate to the surroundings must be dismantled. He instructed those in charge to find proper legislative grounds for stopping all ugly constructions. Mayor Avinyan stressed that green areas must remain green areas without any fencing

The municipal bus fleet will increase by 171 new buses. The competition for their procurement has been held.

The renovation of “Mher Mkrtchyan” artistic theatre has been completed. Comfortable conditions will be provided in this cultural centre: the furniture and light and sound systems will be refreshed and modernized.

This year the “Landscaping and environment protection” NCO will have a 20-hectare arboretum. Modern equipment and systems will be here: all pumps, as well as a 100-km sprinkling system have been purchased. It is planned to grow the main part of the sorts of trees selected by the scientific-technical council and scientific forum for Yerevan in the greenhouse and arboretum facilities.

In 28 streets of Yerevan the overground communication lines will be replaced underground. Currently the process is going on in Vardanants, Hanrapetutyan, Khorenatsi and Tumanyan street.
