Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan was present at the ceremony of opening of the new building of the children and youth sport complex of Kanaker-Zeytun. The RA NA Deputy Robert Sargsyan, the chief coach of the national team of Armenia of Greco-Roman wrestling Levon Julfalakyan and the Olympic champion, triple world champion of Greco-Roman wrestling Arthur Alexanyan were present at the ceremony of opening. The program implemented within the frames of cooperation between Yerevan Municipality and private sector provided all conditions required for children’s training. Accompanied by the persons in charge Mayor Taron Margaryan walked about the premises, familiarized himself with the work done. It should be noted that Greco-Roman wrestling and judo are taught in Kanaker-Zeytun sport complex.
Answering the journalists’ questions Mayor Taron Margaryan attached particular importance to the measures aimed at activation of sport life in the capital stressing that the programs of overhauling of municipal sport schools are also aimed at healthy lifestyle propaganda in society. The Mayor also expressed hope that the conditions created in the new building would help the sportsmen get new sport achievements.
“Municipal sport schools are always t the center of our attention and during the recent years we carry out various programs aimed at the improvement of conditions. Besides complete renovation we have also set a task to renew the sport equipment. I assure you that this program will be continued till the problem of complete renovation and equipment will be solved. I’d also like to outline that it’s highly important when private sector participates in out initiatives”, stressed the Mayor expressing confidence that the results of cooperation would be noticeable in near future.
