During the regular working meeting in the City Hall the head of External Design and Advertising Department reported Mayor Taron Margaryan that the process of New Year decoration is going on in administrative districts of the capital in accordance with determined schedule.

Deputy Mayor Aram Sukiasyan was assigned by Taron Margaryan to form a working group and make up the program of New Year events which this year will be held under the slogan “new Yerevan in Yerevan 2018”. The persons in charge were instructed to involve both events of Yerevan Municipality and administrative districts and the private sector in working out the program.
“Our aim is to make Yerevan interesting for townspeople and guests of the capital not only in summer period but also in winter, particularly on New Year days. Last year a tradition was formed according to which municipal museums and recreation places were working during festive days. It is necessary to organize the events on the holidays so as to provide festive atmosphere in the capital”, said the mayor.
The heads of administrative districts as well as Department of Trade and Services were instructed by Mayor Taron Margaryan to cooperate with economy entities. The Department of Culture was assigned to make a schedule of municipal museums work on festive days.
The program “New Year in Yerevan in 2018” will include the ceremony of switching on the lights on the main New Year tree of the country, the star of ice-rink on Swan’s Lake, Christmas fair in northern avenue, and festive events in Freedom square and administrative districts.
The program of festive events “New Year in Yerevan 2018” will be presented to public in the beginning of December.
