Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan together with his wife and children took part in the opening of the new season in the Yerevan zoological garden. This favourite recreation zone of the residents of Yerevan has been replenished with new animals and well-arranged. Within the frames of the event various actions were arranged for the little visitors in different parts of the garden. The children were met by the heroes of fairytales and clowns. Good mood was provided for little animal lovers everywhere. Mayor Taron Margaryan accompanied by the director of the Zoo walked about the park, familiarized himself with the conditions created for animals. The director of the zoo presented the perspective programs of the zoo development on the model, as well as reported that the projects scheduled for the previous year had been mainly implemented and all the requirements set by the Municipality were gradually being accomplished.
Talking with the journalists Mayor Taron Margaryan congratulated everybody on the Labour Day and stressed that the programs of the Zoo development will be long-lasting. «I think that everybody has noticed when entering the Zoo that a lot of work had been carried out. And the volumes of the work done are impressive. «We have divided the program of the development of the garden into three stages. This year the budget of Yerevan has provided AMD 300 million for the construction of cages, their repairing and reconstruction, landscaping of the area, forest area and irrigation network expansion and for a number of other improvements. Besides, we have invited international specialists and project managers of the sphere of zoological gardens who will suggest applying of other standards adopted in the world-known zoological gardens. For the second and third stages of the program, in 2015-2016 we will disburse more financial means to the zoological garden.Our wish and aim is to provide animals with conditions as natural as possible and this will make the garden more attractive for the visitors as well. We also plan to replenish the garden with new animals», said the Mayor.
Taron Margaryan talked with the visitors, heard out their opinions as well. Taking the opportunity the residents expressed their pleasure and gratitude to the Mayor for the noticeable changes obvious not only in the Zoological garden but throughout the capital as well.
