Saint Petersburg Dyas in Yerevan: Valeri Plotnikov's photo exhibition in Yerevan History Museum

Within the frames of Saint Petersburg days in Yerevan the photo exhibition called “The portrait of past epoch” by Saint Petersburg photographer Valeri Plotnikov opened in Yerevan History Museum. Greeting the participants of the exhibition the head of Yerevan Municipality Department of Culture and Tourism Ruben Hovhannisyan noted that this exhibition is a good opportunity for young photographers to get professional advice.
Ruben Hovhannisyan congratulated Valeri Plotnikov on the opening of Yerevan exhibition and wished him new creative accomplishments.
On behalf of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia to Armenia Ivan Volinkin, the eminent Russian photographer was greeted by the first secretary of the embassy Timur Karabaev. Well-known Armenian photographers took part in the ceremony of opening too. Photographer Van Kochar presented Valeri Plotikov the book “Armenian photographers” which was published with the assistance of the former Prime Minister Andranik Margaryan.
Expressing gratitude for warm reception Valeri Plotnikov noted that in the context of many-year cooperation and friendship between Yerevan and Saint Petersburg it's a honor for him to open his exhibition in Yerevan History Museum. The photographer also noted once Sergey Parajanov lived in his flat in Leningrad and generally he has a lot of potos of eminent Armenians in his private collection however he brought with him only a part of them so as Armenians could have the opportunity to remember Russian faous figures too.
60 works by the photographer are presented at the exhibition. Photos of Sergey Parajanov, Mher Mkrtchyan, Armen Jigarkhanyan, Andrey Tarkovski, Nikita Mikhalkov and others are among them. The exhibition is open till May 31.
