St Petersburg days in Yerevan: “Cooperation in the sphere of museology” round-table discussion

Within the frames of Saint Petersburg days in Yerevan held on May 4-5, a round-table meeting was organized in Yerevan History Museum. The theme of the meeting was “Cooperation in the sphere of museology”.
The director of the State Memorial Museum of Leningrad Defence and Siege Sergey Kurnosov, the deputy director of the central exhibition hall “Manezh” os St Petersburg Tatyana Larina, directors and personnel of Yerevan municipal museums- historical and archaeological reserve-museum “Erebuni”, Yerevan Modern Art Museum, Fridtjof Nansen museum and Karen Demirchayn museum took part in the meeting.
During the meeting the colleagues presented the history, the main exhibitions and further programs of the museums.
In particular, the activity of the State Memorial museum of Leningrad Defence and Siege and of the central exhibition hall “Manezh” of St Petersburg, as well as the results of the cooperation with the municipal museums of Yerevan were presented.
Russian partners were impressed with Yerevan History Musеum program “Excursion with surprise” during which the students dressed in national costumes with a dramatized pre-wedding ritual present the museum hall representing the Armenian routine. The parties also discussed the directions of cooperation and perspectives of organization of museum exhibitions through mutual visits.
