“In the age of high technologies implementation of “Smart city” program is really necessary. Today, in all big cities worldwide and particularly in capital cities particular attention is paid to smart management of urban infrastructures and it’s natural that Yerevan should have started taking serious steps in that direction. With this aim we formed the commission which includes working groups due to which we will be able to refer almost to all fields of urban economy attracting all our partners, best specialists and talented youth of the sphere. The commission is open and we are ready to cooperate with everyone and be sure that installing this program we will be able to provide effective management and the “Smart city” program will be fulfilled in Yerevan as well. I am sure that our capital which is going to mark its 2799-th anniversary can come up not only as one of the oldest cities but taking into account the potential of our specialists in information technologies it can become one of the world cities where smart solutions and smart proposals are made”, stressed Mayor Taron Margaryan adding that within the frames of “Yerevan-smart city” program the successful experience of Yerevan sister and partner cities in e-governance will be studied.

Significant results in e-governance were achieved in Yerevan Municipality in the recent years too however we think that they are not enough and we can achieve more”, said Hovik Musaelyan.
It should be noted that with the aim of implementation of “Yerevan-smart city” program three strategies will be worked out: a short-term, a middle-term and a long-term.
