Conference on bilateral cooperation between Saint Petersburg and Yerevan

The conference on bilateral cooperation between the two cities was held within the framework of “Saint Petersburg days in Yerevan” event. Saint Petersburg Vice-Governor Olga Kazanskaya was present at the event together with the officials of various spheres of urban economy, Yerevan deputy mayors David Ohanyan and Aram Sukiasyan, General Consul of RA in St Petersburg Hrayr Karapetyan, the head of the official representation of Yerevan Municipality in St Petersburg Armenak Karapetyan, members of the Council of Elders of Yerevan, representatives of Yerevan Municipality staff.
Greeting the participants of the conference on behalf of Yerevan Mayor Deputy Mayor David Ohanyan stressed the importance of cooperation expansion and strengthening bilateral ties between the two cities.
“Within the frames of the cooperation program signed between the two cities Yerevan Municipality actively cooperate with St Petersburg and during this period we implemented numerous projects in different spheres of urban economy. In particular, active cooperation is being carried out in the spheres of education and culture. St Petersburg days held in our country will become a good platform for cooperation development and discussion of new joint projects”, said David Ohanyan.
St Petersburg Vice-Governor Olga Kazanskaya in her turn expressed gratitude for holding the conference ad noted that it would promote the creation of new possibilities for cooperation development between Yerevan and the northern capital of Russia.
“During these years significant work was done particularly regarding humanitarian programs. Our cities have a number of jointly implemented programs which will be continued due to agreements made”, said Olga Kazanskaya.
During the conference the officials of different spheres of urban economy of Yerevan Municipality and St Petersburg presented reports on the development of investment programs of the two cities, on the possibilities of installation of new technologies in education, culture, health care and e-governance spheres. The programs implemented in teamwork and the possibilities of interaction development were presented too.
