In April 2023 Yerevan Council of Elders set standards for outdoor advertising. Currently the billboards that don’t correspond to the standards are being removed so as to preserve the unique architectural look of Yerevan.
During the last six months 1350 adverts were brought to conformity with the new standards, during the year 14500 illegally installed adverts were dismantled and removed.
The historical and cultural buildings in Yerevan are to be preserved and restored. Their architectural look must not be distorted or spoiled with advertisements. Stricter measures are to be taken in case of breaking the rules of preservation.
