The international chess tournament “Yerevan Open” has started in Yerevan which is organized by Yerevan Chess Federation in cooperation with Yerevan Municipality. The tournament is the biggest open championship in Armenia since its Independence.
Solar photovoltaic stations have been installed in 40 of 43 blocks of flats involved in the first stage of the “EU4Yerevan: Solar Community”. New external and internal lighting systems and LED lamps were installed as well. It should be noted that the program involved 90 blocks of flats.

Today we traditionally mark Erebuni-Yerevan Day. This year, taking into certain circumstances, there will be no celebrations, and the funds anticipated for this event will be transferred to re-equipment of Erebuni historical and archaeological reserve-museum and other cultural establishments, as well as to the programs of housing construction in Artsakh.
On the event of Librarian’s Day Yerevan Mayor Hayk Marutyan hosted a number of employees of the sphere. Congratulating them on the professional holiday Mayor Marutyan expressed gratitude for many-year devoted work.
Yerevan Mayor Hayk Marutyan had a meeting with the delegation headed by the director for Eastern Neighbourhood of the European Commission Mr Lawrence Meredith. Yerevan cooperates with the EU organizations in various programs related to a number of fields of urban economy.
The school N 135 after Artsakh hero Gagik Stepanyan has been overhauled. Yerevan Mayor Hayk Marutyan and the RA Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures Gnel Sanosyan visited the school to see the conditions provided for more than 1700 pupils.

Any design deviations are to be excluded in high-risk urban development facilities. During the regular working meeting Mayor Hayk Marutyan instructed the persons in charge of the supervising structures and the heads of administrative districts to consistent in this regard and to set control in all facilities.
A park dedicated to the memory of the heroes fallen during all the years of Artsakh struggle for independence is going to be created in Yerevan Botanical Garden. About 14 thousand trees will be planted in the area of 30 hectares.
October 1 is marked as the Day of Elderly People. Supported by Yerevan Municipality and the RA Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, the “Mission Armenia” charitable NGO initiated an exhibition-fair in the park after Komitas. Handmade works created by elderly people were presented at the fair.
