By the initiative of Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan, with the aim of strengthening the ties between the city authorities and the residents, to expand the cooperation with them and to get acquainted with the suggestions made by Yerevanians in the programs of Yerevan development and to include them in the programs special «Suggestion pavilions» were installed in the lively places of all administrative districts. These pavilions are opened every week and at the end of each month the letters with suggestions are summarized. In general, within the month of June about 1000 suggestion letters were received. The suggestions refer to various spheres. They are studied and selected then sent to corresponding subdivisions to get possible solutions.

The Assistant to the Mayor of Yerevan Samvel Mertarjyan informed that while the majority of letters received in the first period refers to communal services and were mainly of local character, presently the residents make suggestions of citywide character such as construction of parks, or present interesting urban development projects. There are also suggestions which have already been included in the annual programs of the Municipality of Yerevan. The persons in charge explain such active participation of the townspeople in this project with the atmosphere of trust as the residents are sure that their letters will get to the persons in charge and moreover, can be realized.

“This year “Suggestion pavilions» were installed on May 1 and within the first month there were more than 500 letters, today the number of letters has doubled. All the letters are studies thoroughly and get corresponding processing. It should be noted that there are cases when a resident being unaware of this or that issue apply to the Municipality with a problem which is beyond its powers. In such cases we answer the letter and send the resident to corresponding structure. Sometimes, we organize participation of a resident in the weekly receptions of the head of the administrative district to find the solution of the given problem”, said Samvel Mertarjyan.

We'd like to remind that each resident of the capital has the opportunity to direct their questions and suggestions to the Municipality of Yerevan by means of the “Suggestion pavilions” placed in different places of the capital.
