Within the frames of “Yerevan summer 2015” three-month program of Yerevan Municipality the traditional citywide yard festival “Healthy generation-protected homeland” started on July 2. On the last day of the festival, on June 29 the young representatives of the administrative districts competed in draughts tournament. In spite of amateur level of competitors the struggle was hot. Eventually, the third place was occupied by the representative of Kanaker Zeytun Hayk Ghahramanyan, the second place was taken by the representative of Shengavit district Vahram Ochoyan, and the winner was a representative of Malatia Sebastia district Artak Alikhanyan. All the winners were awarded with medals and diplomas.
Before this tournament young people from 12 administrative districts competed in volleyball, basketball, football, handball, cycling and chess tournaments. So, another page has been written in the chronology of the festival. Within the frames of “Yerevan summer 2015” program this sport event helped the children spending their summer holidays in the capital to outstand with their sport abilities. The team of the administrative district won in total scoring will be awarded with Yerevan Mayor’s challenge cup.
