Yerevan Mayor Hayk Marutyan hosted the head of the Surgery Chair N3 of “Yerevan State Medical University after Mkhitar Heratsi”, Honorary Professor, Doctor of Medical Science, Professor, Distinguished Science Figure of the RA Hovhannes Sarukhanyan and handed him the certificate of the Honorary Citizen of Yerevan and a memorial medal.
Stressing the importance of the doctor’s significant contribution to the system of health care and medicine, Mayor Marutyan wished him strong health and endless energy.
“We are grateful to you for the years of contribution to the health of our compatriots, for educating generations of physicians and it is so important that today you carry on your mission with the same devotion. My warmest congratulations to you on the behalf of the members of the Council of Elders and our townspeople”, said the Mayor.
The title of the Honorary Citizen of Yerevan makes the professor who had built up the future of more than 30 doctors and candidates of medicine and saved numerous lives feel more responsible.
“A honorary member of a respectable city – no title can be higher. This reward made me feel younger and stronger”, said Doctor Hovhannes Sarukhanyan.
The decision to award the title of the Honorary Citizen of Yerevan was made at the meeting of the Council of Elders held on May 25.
