Programs Discussed During This Week’s Working Meeting

The large-scale pothole repair program for the current year continues in Yerevan. To date, 15,000 square meters of asphalt concrete pavement have been removed, with 13,000 square meters already repaved. More than 300 potholes have been temporarily patched.

The renovation of the sports hall at Yerevan Secondary School № 175 has been completed. The project was implemented under the Yerevan Municipality’s 2025 program. As part of the major overhaul, the sports hall was renovated, doors and windows were replaced, the restroom ventilation system was upgraded, and new water supply and sewage networks were installed. The sports hall has also been equipped with new sports equipment.

To promote tennis and further develop the sports sector, the construction of an international tennis academy is planned in Yerevan. It will comply with international standards, thereby allowing the capital to host international tournaments, and serve as a training place for high-performance athletes.

A two-stage tender has been completed for the urban development project adjacent to the “Ajapnyak” metro station. Both local and international organizations have submitted bids and will soon present preliminary design proposals, outlining their urban planning and investment solutions.

The process of updating spatial data and developing new platforms within the Geographic Information System (GIS) is ongoing. An information platform for urban development investment projects has already been launched, providing access to the city’s spatial data layers. The platform is valuable for both residents and investors seeking information about specific investment projects. A foreign-language version will be launched to enhance accessibility for international investors.

Major renovation and improvement works are underway at preschool educational institutions in Yerevan. Tenders have been conducted for the preparation and procurement of design and cost-estimate documentation. The projects include the demolition of existing buildings and the construction of new facilities for Kindergarten No. 40 (Ajapnyak Administrative District), Kindergarten No. 1 (Kentron Administrative District), and Kindergarten No. 59 (Davtashen Administrative District). The projects are currently in the design phase. The new facilities will feature sports and assembly halls and will be equipped with modern ventilation, fire safety, drainage, and other essential systems. The surrounding areas will be landscaped, equipped with children’s playgrounds, and fitted with irrigation systems. Construction costs will be covered by the Yerevan Municipality’s 2026 budget.

Sidewalks along Komitas Avenue in the Arabkir administrative district are to be reconstructed. Electrical cables will be installed in underground conduits. Dead or unhealthy trees along the sidewalks will be replaced with new tree species and shrubs.

The Yerevan Municipality urges operators to register self-service equipment (such as payment terminals, ATMs, and vending machines) installed without the required permit and recorded on gisyerevan.am. At present, 468 devices remain unregistered, while 2,202 have been duly registered.
