Azatutyan Square Turned into Playground for June 1 Events
On June 1, which is traditionally marked as Day of Children’s Protection, the capital was full of various events for kids. Yerevan Municipality turned Azatutyan (Freedom) square into a special playground where more than ten pavilions were designed for kids’ amusement.
Children’s choirs were performing on the stage. Easels and special tables for drawing and painting, an experimental lab, other not only entertaining but also teaching games were placed throughout the square. There was also a tent cinema to watch favourite cartoons placed in the area. The event also hosted many people who arrived from provinces.
The city authorities tried to do their best to ensure a high mood for little dwellers and guests of the city.
Yerevan Deputy Mayor Tigran Avinyan joined the townspeople together with his wife and daughter.
The event started at midday lasted will last till late evening. Various events dedicated to Children’s Day were organized in all administrative districts as well.
