The park after Martiros Saryan is among the areas preferred by those who are fond of amateur art. The unique park has become shabby and lost much of its charm.
Currently, the park is being completely improved and landscaped. The proposal was received by the Municipality of Yerevan via “Active citizen” platform. The author of the won project is Sasun Mkrtchyan.
“While discussing the project we understood that it would require more financial means than it was anticipated for the “Active citizen” platform. At the end of the competition process the activities will cost approximately AMD 88 million”, informed the First Deputy Mayor of Yerevan Hrachya Sargsyan.
The well-arrangement process has already been started. The process includes renovation of walkways, placement of basalt benches, restoration and refreshment of the green zone, installation of a new irrigation system, planting of trees, bushes and flowers.
The park will also be provided with a new energy saving lighting system.
According to Hrachya Sargsyan, the improvement of the park will take two or three months. It will be a present to the city on the event of M. Saryan’s 140th anniversary.
