The exhibition called "Heritage" dedicated to the memory of Karen Demirchyan has opened

The exhibition called "Heritage" dedicated to the statesman and politician, the First Secretary of Communist Party of the Soviet Armenia, the National Assembly Chairman of the RA in 1999 Karen Demirchyan has opened in the National Museum-Institute of Architecture. The history of the unique constructions of Armenia in 1960-1990 represented in photographs and reviews, as well as models is shown displayed at the exhibition. The RA NA Chairman Galust Sahakyan, Karen Demirchyan's family, the RA Minister of Urban Development Narek Sargsyan, Deputy Mayor of Yerevan Aram Sukiasyan, the Mayor of Yerevan from 1975 till 1985 Murad Muradyan, the architects, builders working in the period of Karen Demirchyan's leadership, were present at the opening of the exhibition. The widow of Karen Demirchyan Rima Demirchyan expressed gratitude to the organizers and to all those present. "Many people took part in the creation of this heritage. Though the exhibition is officially dedicated to Karen Demirchyan, with this exhibition we commemorate and tribute all the people who contributed to the creation of this heritage: eminent talented architects, designers, builders, workers. People can't live only with the present: memory takes them to the past, and hopes take them to the future and the moral demands passing the past to the future-this is the main idea of the exhibition", said Rima Demirchyan.
The exhibition is open till January 30.
