“Reading Yerevan” exhibition-fair was continued with a literature concert

Within the frames of “Yerevan summer 2016” program, on the occasion of Holy Translators' feast the exhibition-fair “Reading Yerevan” was organized in Yerevan City Hall. The event was continued with a literature concert.
Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan was present at the event. The Mayor walked about the pavilions of the exhibition, familiarized himself with the new collection of literature presented by the publishing houses and book stores, to the new publishing approaches. The Mayor bought books for his children. The exclusive editions kept in Yerevan History Museum were displayed at the exhibition separately.
During the concert the singers and composers and masters of reciting presented the works by Armenian poets. Deputy Mayor Aram Sukiasyan outlined that actions dedicated to books and literature occupy a special place in the list of “Yerevan summer” events which has been held for the 4th year. He also said that Yerevan Municipality has implemented large-scale programs to boost reading among the youth and to create more comfortable conditions for those who are fond of reading. As a result the number of readers in municipal libraries has significantly grown.
The director of the museums and archives of the Mother See of Holy Echmiatsin Priest Asoghik Karapetyan,who present at the event, greeting the initiative of Yerevan Municipality stressed that such actions are important from the point of view of drawing the interest of the new generation to reading, to evaluation of books. The exhibition is open today.
