“Dreamnight” event at Yerevan Zoo
Yerevan Zoo hosted kids with disabilities, chronic diseases and children from needy families.
Yerevan Zoo is a member of a big family of zoological gardens that carry out this event every year and celebrate the inclusiveness. The acting director of Yerevan Zoo Arevik Mkrtchyan informed that they hosted nearly 100 kids and generally about 300 participants. Many of them participated in the event for the first time. Next year they plan to come up with new initiatives. And this event was carried out due to benefactors and volunteers.
The event held in more than 300 zoological gardens of 35 countries annually started in 1996 in Rotterdam, Netherlands. Yerevan Zoo in cooperation with Yerevan Municipality has joint the initiative since 2014.
The children walked about the garden, participated in games and contests held in drawing, pottery, singing. They listened to concerts and got encouraging prizes. Everything in the zoo was free of charge for them.
Yerevan Municipality and the Zoo intend to carry on such events.
