Yerevan to become centre of European football: Mayor and FFA President to give a start to UEFA-U19 countdown

100 days prior to the UEFA European Under 19 Championship, Yerevan Mayor Hayk Marutyan and the FFA President Arthur Vanetsyan gave a start to countdown on the symbolic clock located in square of Europe in Northern Avenue.
Best European national teams will gather in Yerevan from 14 to 27 of July. Within two weeks the teams of Portugal, Spain, France, Italy, Czechia, Ireland and Norway will be competing for the title of the best national team in this age category. The national team of Armenia will join them as a hosting party.
Stressing the importance of holding such a tournament in the capital, Mayor Marutyan noted that Yerevan will do its best to ensure proper organization of the event.
“Perhaps, it’s the biggest sport event in the history of our country. Yerevan and Armenia will become the centre of Europe in July. Yerevan is ready to host the participants and the tourists”, mentioned the mayor.
Mayor Hayk Marutyan and FFA President Arthur Vanetsyan presented balls to the participants of the action and to passers-by.
