“Yerevan should be a “smart city”: Mayor Tigran Avinyan receives delegation of Qingdao

Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan hosted the president of the standing commission of the national urban congress of Qingdao Van Lyuming. This summer, the agreement of declaring Yerevan and Qingdao sister-cities was signed.
Stressing the importance of strengthening and expansion of bilateral ties, Mayor Avinyan marked that the parties should carry out consistent activities to realize the document.
“We should join the efforts of our teams to fulfill the cooperation established between Yerevan and Qingdao. I am impressed with the smart solutions installed in the cities of China seeing how easier they make human life. We set a task to make Yerevan a smart city as digitized and modernizes as possible, and I am sure that the experience of Qingdao can be useful in this aspect”, stressed the Mayor of Yerevan.
Expressing gratitude for warm welcome, Mr. Van Lyuming in his turn stressed that there are wide perspectives for successful cooperation expansion and realization of joint programs.
“Declaring Yerevan and Qingdao sister-cities is an important factor for cooperation development. Qingdao is the economic centre of China, and Yerevan is the economic centre of Armenia, and I am sure that within the frames of cooperation we will be able to learn from each other which will benefit to both cities”, marked Van Lyuming and invited Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan to Qingdao with an official visit.
The parties arranged to work out a working program in certain directions of the city economy to fulfil it afterwards.
