On June 22, Yerevan Council of Elders convened the 5th meeting of the 6th session. The agenda included 15 items.

Shahamiryans street in Shengavit district will be named after the RA distinguished figure of economy, benefactor Hrant Vardanyan. The Council voted for this draft decision.

By another decision the Council confirmed naming the “Centralized system of libraries” NCO after the eminent Armenian singer, composer, poet, actor Charles Aznavour.

NCO “Yerevan sport and technical centre for youth and children after Ashot Ghulyan” was renamed to NCO “The school of aircraft modeling after Ashot Ghulyan (Bekor)” . It is planned to found a laboratory for unmanned aerial vehicles and robotics on the basis of this school.

The Council also approved of the draft decision to give the right to free use of 514 community-owned elevators to condominiums as the management bodies of blocks of flats. It should b noted that in accordance with the “Law on Management of Blocks of Flats”, elevators belong to owners of flats on the right of general use. Attaching importance to the social significance of the problem and safety of citizens, in 2019 the city authorities initiated the program of replacement of old elevators with new ones.

The meeting of the Council was followed by questions and answers. The members of the Council gave their questions to the Mayor, heads of administrative districts and the municipal subdivisions.
So, Yerevan Municipality completed its work in the 6th session. The legislative body of the community restarts its work on September 14.
