Yerevan Council of Elders Sets Privileges for Families of Those Fallen During Defense of Armenia and Artsakh

At the first meeting of this year the Council of Elders of Armenia made a decision to set privileges in property and vehicle taxes to the families of those fallen during the defense of the Republic of Armenia and Artsakh or who died afterwards as a result of injuries got during the mentioned martial activities; the privilege is to be given to the disabled of the 1st and 2nd group who got their disability during the battles in Artsakh and Armenia, as well as to the families of those captured, missing or declared dead. The privilege was given to 1739 citizens 532 of which have become disabled of 1st and 2nd group during Artsakh and Armenia defense; 6 are families of captured or declared dead, 1202 are families of those fallen. The mentioned families were freed from tax responsibilities and penalty payments accounted for 2021-2022. The amount is 9,531,611 AMD (nine million five hundred thirty-one six hundred eleven drams).

Approximately 40% of the sidewalks of Yerevan will be free for pedestrians’ movement. The Yerevan Council of Elders set a number of requirements for the arrangement of open-air cafes: the requirements set standards for using sidewalks, the material and colours to be applied. Besides, from now on the permissions for open-air cafes will be given not only for summer season (May 1-October 31) but for winter season as well (November 1 – April 30).

By another decision of the council, the applications for permissions for food, alcohol and tobacco trade addressed to the heads of administrative districts are to be sent electronically via dimum.yerevan.am website. The process of digitation of the permissions given by Yerevan Municipality for trade and services will be continued.

 Approximately 6 billion 102 million drams will be allotted from the community budget for replenishment of bus and trolleybus fleets. The amount will be used for procurement of 150 buses of “Zhong Tong” make and 15 trolleybuses.

35th street in Arabkir district of Yerevan will be named after the Arm.SSR People’s actor, the Honorary Citizen of Yerevan Svetlana Grigoryan; 7th street of Nork will be named after the Armenian singer, performer of Komitas and Armenian spiritual music Lusine Zakaryan, and 33th street in Arabkir will be named after the Armenian playwright Zhirayr Ananyan.
