During the special meeting of the Council of Elders convened on October 5 t the suggestion of Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan, on the event of the 2798th anniversary of Yerevan as well as for the contribution to development of national sport, for outstanding achievements and glorious victories at the international sport arena, the Council of Elders of Yerevan approved of the draft decision on awarding the title of Honorary Citizen of Yerevan to the Greco-Roman Style wrestler, world double champion, three times Europe champion, winner of the Gold Medal at the Olympic Games of 2016 Arthur Gevork Aleksanyan.
On the event of the 2798th anniversary of Yerevan, for significant contribution to the development of national sport, for outstanding achievements and glorious victories at the international sport arena, by the decision of the Council of Elders of Yerevan the title of Honorary Citizen of Yerevan has been awarded to the Greco-Roman Style wrestler, champion of Armenia and Russia, winner of the Silver Medal of Europe championship, vice-champion of the Olympic Games of 2016, master of sport of Russia of international class Mihran Edik Harutyunyan.
For outstanding creative achievements, significant contribution to the development of drama art and for many-year activity, the Council of Elders of Yerevan awarded the title of Honorary Citizen of Yerevan to the actor, RA People's Artist Rafael Artem Kotanjyan.
By another decision of the Council of Elders, the doctor-rheumatologist of the policlinic for adults of the medical center “Surb Grigor Lusavorich” Sarah Mantashev Yesayan will also be awarded with the title of Honorary Citizen of Yerevan for her significant contribution to the system of health care, for many years of productive work.
