During the official meeting held in the City Hall, the program of cooperation for the years of 2021-2023 was signed between the municipalities of Yerevan and Stepanakert. The document was signed by the leaders of the capitals of the two Armenian states. The cooperation makes it possible to develop interaction in different spheres of the city economy.

“Yerevan and Stepanakert have always cooperated in different fields and we had a program to follow. Unfortunately, the war broke out and our program had to be changed. Currently it’s highly important to restore Stepanakert from the damage the war caused and to bring the life into its natural pace. Yerevan has always been and will go on being side by side with Stepanakert, particularly in these hard days. The document signed is actually the cooperation program for the coming years: it involves the suggestions made by the Councils of Elders and heads of subdivisions of the two cities. Starting today we will go on restoration of Stepanakert”, stressed Hayk Marutyan.

“During the war, we constantly felt the support of Yerevan. Significant financial aid was provided and taking the opportunity, I’d like to express gratitude to Yerevan Mayor and the members of the Council of Elders for such a decision. The financial means were given to the residents as well as aimed at Stepanakert restoration. The goal of the contract signed between the cities is to restore the second Armenian capital by joining our efforts”, said David Sargsyan.
