Dear Yerevanians

March 8 is the International Women’s Day. Proportional involvement of social groups into public life is not only a natural necessity arisen from human rights but also is an important way to make the community and the state stronger.

I am happy to see women’s enthusiastic activity in the city authorities of Yerevan, particularly in the Council of Elders. Women are the authors and moving force of many initiatives aimed at the problems of the city. I would like to claim with delight that we have had the possibility to evaluate women’s activity, and I would outline naming streets and squares after eminent Armenian women.

I’d also state that we have started improving the working conditions for women in different municipal organizations related to education, health care, culture, communal services and others. Let me particularly congratulate those women who contribute their energy and talent to our city’s development. I am grateful to you for your devoted and efficient work.
