Dear Yerevanians, those who convey warmth, love, unique spirit and sense to Yerevan!
Today we are marking the 2804th anniversary of foundation of our beloved Erebuni-Yerevan.
I highly evaluate the fact that our city unites eminent figures of culture and science of our country, talented sportsmen, gifted youth and all honest citizens.
Our capital city started its journey to development in rather hard conditions, however it moved firmly encountering praises, acclaim, sometimes misunderstanding and strict criticism. Nevertheless, hearing out and sharing your concerns as citizens we try move forward in time and space at the same time preserving our identity, history, culture, our will and concept to live and develop.
Casting a glance back to our past, realizing and evaluating the complicated and arduous present of our country we undertake the hard process of fulfillment of our future aims and desires and we can firmly announce that all of us have the same goal – never to stop thinking about our independence and statehood, never, never to stop acting, struggling and striving for the sake of Armenia and its freedom. From this point of view urbanization must be reasonable and the concept of development must be constructive.
The pursuit of our city is to develop in the conditions of free competition, and to achieve our goals it is vital to unite different “I”-s to create one “WE”. Only via our unified potential and joint efforts we will be able to change the existing situation and to make the future of our city more colourful and perspective.
Throughout years I considered any effort, any trifle aimed at the development of citizens and the city to be a priority. However disappointed we feel speaking about the problems of the city, the improvements already achieved are undeniable. We certainly do our best to give new impetus to our cultural life preserving national spiritual roots keeping up with new requirements at the same time.
We restore neglected parks, gardens and playgrounds following the idea that restoring the old we are creating the new.
Today our state attaches particular importance to knowledgeable and smart society, thus our becoming powerful and developed has no alternative. And the way to education and self-education starts from kindergartens and leads to libraries and cultural centres. Besides renovation and construction of all educational establishments we also evaluate the quality of education, its modernization, therefore we work every day in various directions.
We have started modernization of transport system and the process is ongoing until we get the desirable results.
In a few days the construction of the centralized digital centre for traffic management is starting, which will make it possible to bring the transport service up to date.
