The delegation headed by Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo who is in Yerevan and the behest of Mayor Taron Margaryan was welcomed in Yerevan City Hall. Greeting the guests and expressing gratitude to his colleague for accepting the invitation Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan stressed during the official reception, that strengthening of friendship and business ties between the two capitals, working out of bilateral programs and program cooperation in various spheres are really important for Yerevan.

“Mrs Mayor, I'd like to thank you once again for accepting the invitation and visiting Yerevan. We attach particular importance to strengthening and expansion of cooperation with Paris and I am sure that your visit will give a new stimulus to our cooperation. Taking the opportunity I want to express gratitude for special attitude to Armenian community as it is highly important for us. There is actually a wide field for cooperation between Yerevan and Paris which will make it possible for us to expand joint projects in the spheres of local self-government, economical development, tourism boosting and in other spheres of urban economy. Thus, I would suggest forming a working group which will work out and present the directions in which we have wide perspectives”, said Taron Margaryan.
Expressing gratitude for the invitation and warm welcome Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo congratulated Yerevan Mayor on Yerevan Day and stressed that she would do her best to assist in getting noticeable results in the cooperation between the two cities.
“Mr Mayor, it's very nice to visit a city which has got almost three thousand-year-old history. We also attach importance to our cooperation expansion with Yerevan and the proof of this is our visit to Yerevan with an expanded delegation. Our successful cooperation is the result of centuries-old history between our people. I must outline particular participation of the Armenian community in Paris development as it is significant in fact. Mr Mayor, I'd like to thank once more for the invitation. I am also grateful for your consistency and willingness aimed at cooperation expansion and development between Yerevan and Paris. I am sure that in near future we will achieve significant results”, said Anne Hidalgo expressing hope that in the future she would have the opportunity to host Yerevan in Paris.
