Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan meets with the Mayor of Riga

During the official visit to Riga Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan met with the Mayor of Riga Nil Ushakov. The Honorary Consul of the Republic of Latvia in the RA Armen Ghasaboghlyan was present at the meeting too.

Greeting the Mayor of Yerevan and expressing gratitude for accepting the invitation and the visit, Nil Ushakov attached importance to the willingness and efforts of Yerevan Mayor aimed at cooperation expansion between the two cities and assured that the visit would contribute to further strengthening of interaction and partnership as well as to the expansion of cooperation frames between the two cities.
“Mister Mayor, I am glad to meet you in Riga again. It is another proof of the warm and friendly relations between the two cities. The cooperation between Yerevan and Riga is increasingly developing and its results are becoming more and more noticeable. Today we are opening “Yerevan” park which will become the best proof of successful cooperation between the two cities”, said Nil Ushakov.
Еxpressing gratitude for warm welcome Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan in his turn aid that the friendship between the two countries and the nation is an important stimulus for further strengthening and partnership development between Yerevan and Riga. Having thanked for opening the park constructed by the efforts of the city authorities and the Armenian community of Riga Mayor Taron Margaryan expressed confidence that the park would become one of the favourite places both for the residents and the guests of Riga.
“Riga is really a reliable partner for Yerevan and we state our willingness in the issue of further expansion of bilateral relationship. We greet the initiative of opening “Yerevan” park in Riga which testifies that our cooperation is effective and successful indeed. Mister Mayor I am sure that this recreation zone will become a favourite place for everybody symbolizing the presence of Yerevan in Riga”, Taron Margaryan.
During the meeting the parties also discussed the issues related to cooperation programs expansion.
