Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan together with the representatives of various state and private structures, diplomatic missions, educational, medical and other establishments took part in the citywide tree planting announced for April 12.

The new recreation zone adjacent to Myasnikyan avenue was replenished with about 600 trees. Those who participated in the clean-up together with the Mayor including the residents of the capital and the ambassadors accredited in Armenia greeted the initiative noting that it is very important not only from the point of view of environment protection but in the issue of strengthening the friendship between peoples as well.

Answering the questions of the journalists Taron Margaryan thanked the representatives of the diplomatic corps stressing that it is a good occasion to make the friendly relations between people stronger. The Mayor also stressed that the Municipality attaches big importance to the restoration and expansion of green areas. “The city authorities undertake the responsibility of expansion and protection of green areas. The participation of townspeople is very important in this issue. I’d like to note with delight that the number of the participants is increasing year by year. Yerevan is the most beautiful city for me and I am sure that as a result of teamwork we will have the city we have dreamt of”, stressed Taron Margaryan.
