Mayor of Yerevan Tigran Avinyan received Li Xinwei, the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of Armenia.
Congratulating the ambassador on the assumption of his diplomatic mission, Mayor Avinyan wished him success in carrying out his important responsibilities.
In the context of Armenian-Chinese relations, both sides emphasized the importance of deepening cooperation at the municipal level. The Mayor of Yerevan noted that the agreement signed with Beijing lays the groundwork for the implementation of mutually beneficial initiatives, and also highlighted the effective collaboration already established with the city of Qingdao.
Mayor Avinyan expressed his gratitude for the various technical support programs carried out by the Chinese government, noting that the beneficiaries of these initiatives are the residents of Yerevan.
Ambassador Li Xinwei, in turn, described Armenia and China as reliable partners and thanked the Mayor of Yerevan for his significant contribution to the development of bilateral relations.
