Zebras are among ten new arrivals in Yerevan Zoo. They were brought from South Africa. Currently, they are living and can be seen in the same enclosures with European Red Deer which are among the new inhabitants too. The animals are a present from Gagik Tsarukyan.
The white tiger is named Alba. His next-door neighbour is the new bear. The new animals aren’t exhibited yet.
Due to the donation, there are already more than 900 animals of 150 types. According to the agreement reached recently, new arrivals are awaited.
Zoos generally get animals either via donations or via swapping with other zoos. Yerevan Zoo plans to carry out new projects which will create more comfortable conditions for animals and make the area more attractive for visitors.
