The results of the second stage of hippotherapy program which is implemented with the assistance of Yerevan Municipality jointly with the Fund for Wild Nature and Cultural Values Protection and Viva-Cell company. The main aim of the events started with the opening of the first inclusive playground in Yerevan Zoo in 2015 is to contribute to integration and rehabilitation process of children with disabilities.
Deputy Staff Secretary of Yerevan Municipality Samvel Mertarjyan stressing the importance of the program outlined that as a result of the cooperation with private and non-government organizations numerous programs are being implemented for disabled people particularly for children living in the capital, and hippotherapy is one of them.
According to the director of the Zoo Ruben Khachatryan, this year the program started in October and in comparison with the previous years, trainings were held 3 times a week due to which both last year's beneficiaries and other children were able to take part in the program. So, the number of participants was about 80 persons.
During the final event the children were given the opportunity to ride a horse and to take part in special trainings.
Expressing gratitude for the program realization the parents noted that the results of hippotherapy were seen after the first training. The children also took part in pre-holiday event and got presents.
