“GOST-made in Yerevan” exhibition has opened in Yerevan History Museum
Within the frames of Erebuni-Yerevan celebration the exhibition “GOST-made in Yerevan” has opened in Yerevan History Museum. The exhibition represents the samples of goods produced in Yerevan in the Soviet period mainly in textile and food industry. The First Deputy Mayor Kamo Areyan, the Deputy Mayor Aram Sukiasyan, members of the Council of Elders were present at the opening ceremony.
This exhibition is dedicated to the 2798th anniversary of the capital and to the 85th anniversary of the museum.
“The Soviet period was the period of outstanding achievements of Armenia's economics. In some industries Yerevan occupied one of leading positions in the whole country. Cognac, wine, tobacco,shoes,carpets and other goods made in Yerevan were of particular demand”, said the director of the museum Armine Sargsyan.
The visitors of the exhibition can see the samples of Cognac factory production (from 1953 to 1991 this factory got the monopoly of the sphere), of Tobacco plant, shoe factory “Masis”, of the clock factory, of the sewing factory “Garun”, of Art factory, of carpet factory “Haygorg” and so on.
The exhibition “GOST-made in Yerevan” is open till the end of the year, from Monday till Saturday, 11:00-17:30.
