Lighting networks modernized in all transport tunnels of Yerevan
Yerevan Municipality initiated modernization of illumination in the transport tunnels of the capital to ensure safer traffic during the night. The program was started in 2020. After replacement of the lighting systems in some tunnels the result has become noticeable at once. This year, about 400 lamps have been replaced with new once at 10 locations.
According to the director og “Yerqaghluys” CJSC Galust Vardanyan, the main goal of the modernization is to ensure safety and energy saving. It has been estimated that after the modernization energy saving makes up 60-70, even 80%.
Currently, all transport tunnels of Yerevan have been modernized. The financial means saved due to the modernization are aimed at new programs. The time has come to modernize the illumination of parks and gardens.
