Taking into account the demand for 100-dram coins to pay transportation fares the drivers of all new community buses and minibuses will have some change on them so as to help passengers. During the regular working meeting the director of “Yerevan Bus” CJSC Elbak Tarposhyan marked that it is important that passengers have their 100-dram coins with them when they get on the buses as the drivers can’t provide such a lot of coins. The situation will improve after the unified ticket system has been installed.

Yerevan Municipality will purchase 100 more new buses. Mayor Hrachya Sargsyan instructed to get the tender package for bus purchase ready.

Within the scope of transport system reforms the fleet of “Electric transport” company will be modernized. The competition for purchase of 15 new trolleybuses is going to be announced in a few days.

From May 1 the new buses of “Zhong Tong” production are starting servicing a few new itineraries. The process will be arranged with 54 buses currently included in the bus fleet.

Road surface marking should be done right after asphalting process is over. The persons in charge of the sphere were instructed to arrange the process properly so that there were no delays caused by marking. It should be reminded that from April 1 the function of marking up streets, installing traffic lights and road signs is delegated to the community. To regulate this problematic field Yerevan Municipality has taken a number of measures having taken into consideration the problems frequently raised by drivers.
