Within the frames of the official visit of the delegation headed by Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan to the NKR, by the initiative of tourism unit of Yerevan Municipality and jointly with the department of tourism and historical environment protection adjunct to Ministry of Economy of NKR, the visit of Yerevan tourist companies to Artsakh was organized. The bilateral meeting-discussion with the representatives of the sphere was held within the frames of the visit.
Greeting the members of Yerevan delegation the Deputy Minister of Economy of NKR Sergey Shahverdyan stressed the importance of mutually beneficial cooperation established between Yerevan and Stepanakert and outlined that significant progress is visible in the sphere due to jointly implemented programs aimed at tourism boosting. Expressing gratitude for warm welcome Yerevan Mayor's Assistant Maria Baraghamyan expressed confidence that the initiatives aimed at tourism development in Artsakh would be long-term.
“During these years of cooperation bilateral meetings and campaigns were organized to boost tourism development and it is particularly appreciated by our colleagues from Artsakh. The tourism unit of Yerevan Municipality since 2013 has been taking practical steps in this direction. In particular, a number of packages were offered for incoming tourist companies. In the near future a number of Yerevan events are planned to be held in Artsakh”, said Maria Baraghamyan.
During the meeting the head of tourism unit of Yerevan Municipality Maya Tokhalyan presented a number of variants of new tourist packages for visiting Karabakh which will promote tourism boosting as much as possible.
During the cognitive visit the representatives of Yerevan tourist companies will visit Shushi, Tigranakert, museums, as well as other historical and cultural sights and some places of tourist interest.
