Within the frames of the three-month program “Yerevan summer 2016 “, on July 9 the sport and entertainment event Yerevan Color Run will be held in the capital for the second time. The details of the event were presented during the press-conference by the Deputy Staff Secretary of Yerevan Municipality, the Deputy Chairman of the Council for Youth Affairs adjunct to Yerevan, Samvel Mertarjyan, by the founder of “Run Armenia” initiative Ghazar Hakobyan and by the chief specialist of marketing unit of “Ameriabank” Gayane Manukyan. The event is held by the initiative of “Run Armenia” project with the assistance of Yerevan Municipality.

Samvel Mertarjyan noted that Yerevan Municipality attaches importance to youth involvement in various events and in healthy lifestyle propaganda in Yerevan. The founder of “Run Armenia” Ghazar Hakobyan noted that Yerevan Municipality is a reliable partner in the issues related to youth programs. The chief specialist of marketing unit of “Ameriabank” Gayane Manukyan stressed that this year their bank is the main sponsor of the event.
Yerevan Color Run is held in many countries including Russia, USA, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, Ireland and has been held in Armenia since 2015.
The profits from the event will be given for charity: solution of the problem of housing of the families deprived of shelters in Gyumri. The sport event starts at 7.00 in the morning with checking in the participants and the warmup at the Sport and Concert Complex after Demirchyan. The run starts at 9.00. The run is not competitive, however the three men and three women to come first will get special prized. After the ceremony of awarding, a colorful “firework” and “Color Dance Party” will take place.
