Salaries of Employees at Yerevan’s Kindergartens to Increase
The Yerevan Council of Elders approved the city’s 2025 budget execution report at a session on March 12. Its own revenues outperformed targets by 9%, while overall expenditure performance reached 90%.
In 2025, municipal authorities replaced 500 elevators across the capital, renovated dozens of kindergarten backyards, and brought the Nubarashen landfill under control within months. Approximately 260,000 square meters of partial-depth pavement repairs were carried out, 551 curb ramps were constructed at 308 locations, 12 specialized multifunctional vacuum trucks, 15 garbage trucks, and around 2,000 plastic waste containers were procured.
Extensive work was also carried out in the urban greening sector: green spaces were expanded by 14.1 hectares, 34,873 linear meters of irrigation water lines were modernized and restored, 5,044 new trees, 35,186 shrubs, and 328,405 flowers were replaced and planted. A new bucket truck and modern tree-vitality testing equipment were also acquired.
Major projects in 2025 encompassed drainage system upgrades at 22 locations. The sewage system reconstruction in the Mushakan district is to be completed this year. Major renovation and reconstruction works were carried out in 113 courtyards in Yerevan, and new football pitches were constructed.

The Council approved a decision to increase salaries for employees at municipal kindergartens by 15–20%, starting May 1.

Hrazdan Gorge Street (stretching from Athens Street near Hrazdan Stadium to Halabyan Street) will be renamed in honor of Nikita Simonyan, Soviet footballer, the Olympic champion and legendary "Ararat-73" head coach. The Council has officially approved the decision.
In the Ajapnyak district, 8th Silikyan Street will be named after the acclaimed composer and kanun (qanon) player Khachatur Avetisyan.

A bust of the poet and French Resistance hero Missak Manouchian will be installed in Yerevan’s Missak Manouchian Park.

The Council tightened regulations and technical specifications for demolition and restoration work (installation, reconstruction, reinstallation, relocation, repair, or restoration) related to external engineering infrastructure.
