20th “Golden Apricot” International Film Festival Starts in Yerevan
The 20th jubilee “Golden Apricot” international film festival started on July 9 under the motto “Looking Back is Yet to Come”. The general sponsor of this cultural event is Yerevan Municipality. The festival brings together eminent movie art figures and enthusiasts. During the solemn opening ceremony, Yerevan Deputy Mayor Tigran Avinyan greeted those present.
“For a few days Yerevan has become one of the brightest spots of the movie industry. Starting with Hamo Beknazaryan film studio, from “Hayfilm” up to our days Armenian cinema has been giving us endless emotions and impressions. No doubt that the “Golden Apricot” film festival is one of the best traditions of Armenian cinema, the 20th jubilee of which we are celebrating together. This year, the GAIFF as usual brought together famous cinema figures and those who love the art of cinema. We are sure that the guests of our city will enjoy the movie festival under the sunny and hospitable sky of Yerevan. And as a representative of Yerevan, I’d like to say
