Since February 20, new “Zhong Tong” buses have started serving the itineraries N28 and N35. During the regular working meeting Yerevan Mayor was reported that the new buses are mainly put into operation to replace old expired mini-buses.

Speaking about problems rooted in transport system, Mayor Hrachya Sargsyan attached importance to citizens’ responsible attitude to suggested temporary solutions. In particular, the Mayor referred to the information speculated in the media about drivers’ asking passengers to pay them the fare. The Mayor instructed to set control over the occurrence so as such cases were excluded if any. He also stressed that the amounts paid by citizens are paid to improve the sphere.

“For 15-20 years nothing was done to improve the situation with transport, and it is clear that the problems can’t be solved at once. The community puts serious efforts into finding complex solutions. In parallel with replacement of old vehicles with new ones certain measures are being taken to install the electronic system of transport management, providing unified ticket system, modernization of bus stops and in other directions”, stressed the Mayor.

Within the frames of “Covenant of Mayors”, by “EU4Yerevan: Solar Community” program installation of solar photovoltaic panels has been completed in more than 90 buildings. The Mayor was reported that the process of installation of lighting systems, setting-up and connecting of photovoltaic stations to network are going on.

Regarding the installation of the special system in “Emergency” company Deputy Mayor Gevorg Simonyan reported that he had had meetings with representatives of specialized companies to discuss the details related to the issue.

The process of retraining of employees to install the “Mulberry” e-system has already started. Mayor’s Assistant Seyran Mejlumyan reported that the new system of paperwork management in the City Hall will be installed by the end of March.

Some cases were fixed at underground parking of Azatutyan square when drivers leave the spot without making payments through self-service payment terminals. The Mayor instructed to impose administrative penalties to law-breakers.

Structural changes are to be made in “Waste removal and sanitary cleaning of Yerevan” community-owned company. Yerevan Mayor Hrachya Muradyan introduced the new acting director of the company Hovhannes Manukyan amd stressed that hard work is ahead. It should be noted that referring to the problem of common cleanness in the capital during the previous meeting the Mayor expressed his dissatisfaction with sanitary cleaning quality. It was instructed to expand the number of employees engaged in street cleaning by 200 people.
