“Yerevan summer 2017”: 4th international festival of modern art and spiritual moral films “Fresco” has started

The 4th festival of modern art and spiritual moral films “Fresco” has started within the frames of “Yerevan summer 2017” three-month program of events in the area of Swan Lake.
Deputy Mayor Aram Sukiasyan and the spiritual mentor of the festival Bishop Bagrat Galstanyan greeted those present. “The festival is of both spiritual and artistic significance. This event has succeeded as within the four years of its existence its geography has expanded and currently film directors from various countries worldwide take part in the festival. It is very important that not only the worshippers of Armenian Apostolic Church but also people of different creeds take part in the fest”, said Aram Sukiasyan. The festival is fulfilled by the joint initiative of “Tsiatsan” NGO and “Formika Production” company in collaboration with Yerevan Municipality and Araratian Patriarchal Diocese.
“Fresco” festival involves 42 films from 25 countries. 28 of the films are competitive and 14 non-competitive. 8 Armenian films will be shown during the festival this year.
For the first time the festival has a special program under the motto “A look back” in which the films of Armenian intellectual, documentary filmmaker Ara Vahuni.
The festival pays particular attention to the participation of special groups in all stages. Due to cooperation with specialized structures people with disabilities take part in all the events of the festival and are actively involved in organizational activities. The pupils of Kharberd orphanage will make the prizes symbolizing the festival which have a form of fish.
The 4th “Fresco” festival will last till September 3.
