First meeting of Council of Elders of 2021
The first meeting of the 6th session of Yerevan Council of Elders was held on February 6, A number of decisions were made during the meeting.

The Council confirmed the grant agreement of “Energy efficiency of Yerevan” program signed between Yerevan Municipality and the European Investment Bank signed On June 8, 2018. This program provides for renovation of 15 kindergartens including construction of 3 new kindergartens. Total cost of the program is 15 million euro. The amount of 7 million euro was allotted by European Investment Bank, 2 million euro – by the Municipality, 5 million euro grant – by the Green Climate Fund and 1 million euro – by the UN Development Program.

Another decision of the Council related to making changes in the structural subdivisions of “Secretariat” and “Staff Management Division” of the Municipality of Yerevan. The main reported on the draft decision, acting Staff Secretary David Hambaryan informed that the structural change aimed at proportional distribution of the volumes of work, exclusion of repeated functions, implementation of coordinated and efficient activity with functions defined in the passports of positions of communal service.

In accordance with another structural change, in Kentron administrative district, the divisions of “Communal facility and organization of activities with management bodies of blocks of flats” and “Urban development and land control” will be rearranged into the division of “Urban development, land control and management of communal facilities”.

Some change was made in the Regulations of “Special services for population” municipal non-commercial organization, according to which the organization is responsible for the arrangement of funeral of lonely and needy people.

The Council of Elders has a new member: the mandate of Gayane Melkom Melkomyan has been delegated to the next candidate on the list Anush Kloyan.

The secretary of “My step” faction Hasmik Khachunts resigned her obligations of the secretary of the faction and Armen Galjyan was elected for this position.

The member of “My step” faction Nuard Vardanyan was elected head of the standing commission for urban development and land control; Lilit Kirakosyan was elected her secretary.

The next regular meeting of Yerevan Council of Elders is scheduled for March 16.
