“Reading Yerevan” book-expo

“Reading Yerevan” open-air book-expo has been held for the second year running within “Yerevan summer” program. Yerevan Deputy Mayor Aram Sukiasyan took part in the opening of the two-day expo. Deputy Mayor walked about the book fair, familiarized himself with the assortment of the pavilions. Book shops, publishing houses, libraries, the Union of Writers of Yerevan, as well as numerous reciters, book lovers, organizations engaged in stationery selling are taking part in the book-expo.
“There are a lot of events in summer: “Yerevan summer 2015” includes various actions which can be enjoyed by children and grown-ups of various interests. “Yerevan summer” has been held for the third year running and the events which receive most responses become traditional. “Reading Yerevan” book-expo is one of them. It’s often said that books are losing their popularity, however we should claim that recently book is coming back to its high position and the role of publishing houses and bookshops is great in this issue”, said Deputy Mayor.
The publishing houses and bookshops were represented at the book-expo with various samples of new literature, children’s literature and so on. For libraries the book-expo is the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the new samples and to establish partnership. Book presentations and meetings with writers have also been organized.
The book-expo lasts 2 days and is open in the park after Misak Manushayn on July 11 too.
