Public radio is 90
President Serzh Sargsyan visited the Public Radio Company of Armenia on the event of the 90th anniversary of Public radio. The President of the Republic, together with Yerevan Mayor and the Minister of Culture familiarized himself with the activity of “Mass Media” scientific and educational center, the main aim of which is to educate high quality employees for television and radio. Afterwards Serzh Sargsyan, Taron Margaryan and Hasmik Poghosyan, were present at the ceremony of opening of individual boards of Nara Shlepchyan and Ruben Matevosyan at the Walk of Fame at Public Radio, as well as at the ceremony of unveiling the memorial dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the Public Radio and 60th anniversary of the Armenian TV. The President of Armenia accompanied by the Board of Public TV and Radio company and the leadership or Radio company visited the central broadcast room where the digital broadcasting of the Public Radio was started. According to the persons in charge, due to digital broadcasting the Public Radio will be available throughout Armenia by any up-to-date TV set receiving digital signals.
Serzh Sargsyan familiarized himself with the new policy of Public Radio broadcasting: broadcasting network and reconsidered list of programs issues on September 1, which according to the persons in charge of the company, had been enriched with more than 20 new programs about the political, social, public, health, economic spheres. The priority of these programs is feedback with audience, rendering of social services, public interest. The executive director of Public radio briefly presented the President the activities carried out in the Radio, the working conditions including the renovation and reconstruction carried out in the premise started since 2013, the improvement of adjacent area. On the event of 90th anniversary President Serzh Sargsyan awarded a number of employees of the Public Radio with medals and thanksgiving diplomas, presented them with honorary titles for their contribution to the spheres of culture and journalism, as well as for long devoted work in the sphere.
